One dead, four injured after head-on collision on SR 240 in Richland

RICHLAND, Wash. -One person was killed and four others were injured in a head-on crash on SR 240 near Duportail Street on the night of April 11 that closed the eastbound lanes for over an hour.

Washington State Patrol Troopers responded to the crash near milepost 33 around 9:16 p.m.

The driver of one of the cars died of their injuries at Kadlec Hospital, according to the WSP, while the driver of the other car and their three passengers, including two juveniles, were transported to Trios and Kadlec for their injuries.

UPDATE 10:30 p.m.

According to the Richland Police Department, SR 240 has been reopened.

One eastbound lane is reportedly still closed while crews finish their investigation.
