ZILLAH, Wash. – One person is dead after a car versus semi crash causing the westbound lanes of I-82 to close.
The crash in the westbound lane of I-82 near milepost 47 near Zillah happened around 1:50 p.m., and one person is confirmed to have died in the crash, according to Washington State Patrol Trooper Chris Thorson.
The westbound lanes of I-82 are now closed at milepost 50 near Toppenish, according to the Department of Transportation and traffic is being detoured onto SR 22 and US 97.
