The Yakima Valley Special Investigations Unit is investigating an officer-involved shooting that left a burglary suspect dead on Sunday, Jan. 14.

Yakima County Sheriff’s Deputies first responded to reports of a burglary around 12:19 p.m. on the 1100 block of Ames Rd. in Yakima County.

According to a YVSIU press release, when Deputies arrived at the scene the suspect drove away, however, their car became disabled and the suspect ran.
