TRI-CITIES, Wash. – The Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) is arriving in the Tri-Cities soon for its 2024 Basketball Championship at the Columbia Basin Community College.

The event, taking place over two weekends from March 6 to 10 and March 16 to 17, is expected to bring over $400,000 in economic impact to the area, according to Visit Tri-Cities.

“It takes great collaboration to host championship events like this,” said Visit Tri-Cities President and CEO Kevin Lewis. “We appreciate the Visit Tri-Cities Sports Development Team for connecting the people, places, and event organizers together to facilitate such an important event.”

In the first weekend, 32 teams will compete including 16 men’s and 16 women’s teams. The top eight teams for both men’s and women’s divisions will return the next weekend to play for the NWAC Championship title.

Since 2016, the event has been held in Everett, however Visit Tri-Cities and CBC Athletics presented a bid in 2022 to the NWAC Board of Directors to host the championships which was awarded with a three-year commitment until 2025.
