New report says female drivers in Oregon and Washington pay more for insurance

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-Female drivers in Oregon and Washington pay some of the highest differentials from their male counterparts in the country, according to a new analysis.

The online lending marketplace Lending Tree recently analyzed insurance rate data in all 50 states to determine which states had the largest difference in premiums between men and women.

According to Lending Tree’s analysis, women pay higher car insurance premiums than men in 37 states, with women paying an average of $32 more per year than men.

Florida reportedly has the highest differential of $199, however, Oregon comes in at number two with a $130 differential and Washington at number 6 with a differential of $103.

Lending Tree’s analysis showed that in addition to paying an average of $103 per year more than men for insurance in Washington, female drivers in the Evergreen State also costs women $1,562 annually, the 18th highest of all states.
