Man sentenced to life in prison for child rape in Kennewick

KENNEWICK, Wash.- According to a media release sent by The Benton County Prosecuting Attorney, Eric Eisinger Gabriel Valdez has been sentenced for two counts of child rape.

According to Eisinger, the crimes occurred over the course of several years.

Valdez was charged with these crimes in November of 2017. When Valdez failed to appear in court in January of 2019 a nationwide warrant was issued for his arrest.

In December 2020, Valdez was located and arrested in the state of Louisiana.

Valdez was then extradited to Washington State.

Valdez has been sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of release after serving 236 months in prison.

In the media release Eisinger thanked many individuals who helped with the case. . Detective Sergeant Remie Rees and retired Detective Holly Baynes of the Kennewick Police Department for their work throughout the investigation.

And Deputy Prosecutor Brittnie Roehm for advocating for the victim throughout the process.
