Lockdown lifted at White Swan High, suspect in stolen car case arrested

WHITE SWAN, Wash.-The lockdown at White Swan High School has been lifted as of about 8:27 a.m., according to the Mt. Adams School District.

The suspect wanted in connection to a stolen car case has been arrested, according to the YCSO and school can be reopened.

White Swan High School was locked down when YCSO Deputies assisted Wapato Police in a stolen car case that led to a chase that ended in White Swan.

The suspect ran from the car and a K-9 unit is currently tracking the suspect and the school was locked down for the safety of students and teachers, according to the YCSO.

The school is asking families to keep students home until further notice.

Buses will be delayed and students already on the way to school will be rerouted to Harrah until the area is clear, according to a social media post from the school.

Staff not already on campus should report to the Harrah campus. Harrah is not locked down, but is prepared to do so if necessary, according to the district. Food will be provided for all students rerouted to Harrah until the scene near White Swan is cleared.
