OLYMPIA, Wash. – With traffic volumes expected to be higher than usual for Thanksgiving weekend, the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) has made some resources available to travelers to aid in planning.

Travel charts for the following four high-volume travel corridors across the state have been posted on the WSDOT website:

I-90 from North Bend to Cle Elum (eastbound and westbound)US 2 from Stevens Pass to Skykomish (eastbound and westbound)I-5 from Lacey to Tacoma (northbound and southbound)I-5 from Bellingham to the Canadian border (northbound and southbound)

These charts provide estimates, for when traffic is expected to be most congested from Wednesday, Nov. 22 through Monday, Nov. 27.

Travelers are reminded to plan ahead for severe weather and emergencies that may impact congestion beyond the projections provided in the charts. The tools and resources found on the WSDOT website and app, along with updates on the department’s social media accounts, can also help travelers reach their destination safely while saving time and minimizing frustration.
