KITTITAS COUNTY, Wash.-The Kittitas County Public Health Department has added a Veterans Service Officer to its available services.
As the new VSO, Timothy Paxton will assist veterans along with their dependents and survivors Mondays through Fridays at the Morris Sorenson building located at 507 N. Nanum Street in Ellensburg.
According to the KCPHD, the VSO can assist with emergency funds for qualifying veterans, coordinating resources, and information about veteran benefits like financial support, employment, healthcare, and more.
The VSO will also be able to assist with food and fuel vouchers for low-income veterans.
Paxton is from Renton and will be the first VSO in Kittitas County according to a KCPHD press release. He served in the military for 23 years.
