KENNEWICK, Wash.-Inclusive Schools Week is Dec. 4-8 and this year’s theme is “Draw me In.”

Art provides a pathway to self-discovery, and sharing art opens doors to understanding and respecting different ways of thinking, according to the Inclusive Schools Network.

Inclusive Schools Week is held the first full week of December to celebrate the progress that schools have made in providing a supportive and quality education to an increasingly diverse student population.

According to the ISN, the week highlights the inclusion of students who are marginalized due to disability, gender, socio-economic status, cultural heritage, language preference, and other factors.

During Inclusive Schools Week 2023, the Kennewick School District is focusing on making sure every student feels included and supported in its schools, by strengthening the connections between students, families, and teachers.
