Kennewick Mayor resigns from city council effective immediately

KENNEWICK, Wash.- According to a press release sent by the City of Kennewick Mayor Bill McKay has resigned from the City Council.

McKay’s resignation letter stated “As of today, I am resigning from my position as Mayor and as a member of City Council. It has been a pleasure to serve the citizens of Kennewick, but am looking forward to spending more time with family and seeing the world. Wish you all the best.”

McKay’s resignation is effective Nov. 7, 2023.

McKay was elected to the council at large position 4 in 2018.
