PASCO, Wash.-With the busy holiday travel season getting underway, the Tri-Cities Airport is offering some tips for travelers to consider when flying from Thanksgiving through New Year’s.

Helpful holiday air travel tips:

Show up early: Plan to be at the airport at least two hours before your flight to find parking, check your bags, get through security and get through your gate.Check your bags: Consider checking your bags when flying this year to lighten what you have to carry and to save time when going through security and boarding the plane.Think 3-1-1: Remember the 3-1-1 liquid rule when going through security: 3 ounces of liquid in a 1 quart bag and 1 bag per person.Know what goes in a checked bag vs. a carry-on: Solid holiday foods, such as turkey or pies can be carried onto the plane in your bag, however, liquid foods should go in your checked bags.Wrapped Gifts: You can travel with wrapped presents, however, if they trigger an alarm you will have to unwrap them when going through security. Instead of wrapping your gifts travelers are encouraged to consider putting them in gift bags for an easier path through security.Electronics: Most electronics can be put in your carry-on, however, if the electronic device is bigger than a cellphone you may need to take it out of your bag when going through security.Greet passengers at the curb: When picking travelers up at the airport do so at the curb.
