Governor Inslee issues emergency proclamation after winter storm damage in Washington

OLYMPIA, Wash.-Governor Jay Inslee issued an emergency proclamation on Wednesday, Jan. 24 for damage from statewide storms in December.

The emergency proclamation was in response to the atmospheric river that flowed over the Northwest beginning Dec. 3 that resulted in over $3 million in damages from flooding, washouts, slope failure and landslides.

According to a press release from the Governor’s Office, the majority of the storm-related damage to infrastructure in Clallam, Grays Harbor, Mason, Skagit and Snohomish counties.

The State Emergency Operations Center was activated by the Washington State Military Department to coordinate resources in support of local officials in alleviating the immediate impacts of the storm.
