Governor Inslee issues emergency proclamation after Jan. storms cause $30 million in damage statewide

OLYMPIA, Wash.-Governor Jay Inslee issued an Emergency Proclamation for damage caused by winter storms in Washington in January.

Governor Inslee issued the Emergency Proclamation on Friday, March 15, due to extreme weather, including straight-line winds, ice, extreme cold temperatures, and heavy rainfall that caused an estimated $30 million in damage.

The extreme weather led to flooding and landslides Chelan, Clallam, Clark, Cowlitz, Douglas, Ferry, Grays Harbor, King, Klickitat, Lewis, Lincoln, Mason, Okanagan, Pacific, Pend Oreille, Skamania, and Wahkiakum counties.

The Washington State Military Department has activated the State Emergency Operations Center to address the storm damage, according to the Governor’s Office.
