Google unveils 2023’s “Year in Search”

TRI-CITIES, Wash. – Google released this year’s “Year in Search,” a yearly list of trending search results worldwide, including the most searched news, people, movies, songs and more.

Here are some interesting trends from the United States’ search results:

The War in Israel and Gaza topped the most trending news searches, followed by the Titan submersible and multiple hurricanes.Damar Hamlin, safety for the Buffalo Bills in the NFL who suffered a cardiac arrest during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals in January, was the most trending athlete and person in the United States and worldwide.”Friends” actor Matthew Perry was the most Googled passing followed by Tina Turner, Jerry Springer and Jimmy Buffett.Because of the massively popular “Barbenheimer” trend, “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer” both topped the most trending movies listJason Aldean’s “Try That In A Small Town” was the most trending song in the United States this year. Aldean also topped the musicians list.
