Free Adventures in Boating classes set for Burbank, Walla Walla

WALLA WALLA, Wash.-Adventures in Boating Classes to certify boaters to receive their mandatory Boater Education Card from Washington State Parks are scheduled for May in Burbank and Walla Walla.

The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office encourages all boaters age 12 and up to attend an Adventures in Boating Class taught by certified instructor Chief Deputy Richard Schram.

Anyone born on or after January 1, 1955, operating a vessel of 15hp or more, is required to have a Boater Education Card in Washington.

According to the WWCSO, those born after 1955 must have their boater education card with them and available for inspection by an law enforcement officer if stopped on the water.

A Washington State Boater Education Card is proof that someone has completed a boater education course and never expires.

Adventures in Boating Classes:

May 11: Fire Station 51 in Burbank, located at 460 W. Humorist Road. 9 a.m.May 25: Fire Station 41 in Walla Walla, located at 2251 Howard Street. 9 a.m.
