Fire crews respond to burning empty home in Finley

FINLEY, Wash. – UPDATE 8:09 p.m.

According to BCFD1, the fire destroyed the Finley home and crews will be staying on scene for several hours to mop up.

Crews at the fire had to use several water tenders to fight the fire due to a lack of fire hydrants in the area.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire.

UPDATE, 7:30 p.m.

BCFD1 Public Information Officer Jenna Kochenauer says crews are fighting an active structure fire at an unoccupied home in Finley.

According to the property owner, no one had been living at the house for a while.

Both Kennewick Fire Department and Franklin County Fire District 3 are assisting BCFD1 with extinguishing the flames.

The fire is threatening nearby trees. No other structures are threatened at this time.

The cause of the fire is unknown and is under investigation by BCFD1.

There is no ETA as to when the fire will be out according to Kochenauer.

No roads are closed as a result of the fire.

According to Benton County Fire District 1, fire crews are responding to a shop fire in Finley.

BCFD1 says the fire is on East Cochran Road off of Finley Road.
