Fight in Kennewick results in shot fired, police investigation

KENNEWICK, Wash. – A shot was fired in Kennewick on Thursday during a fight between two groups of teenagers, according to a press release from the Kennewick Police Department.

KPD says officers responded to a weapons complaint on Jan. 18 at 2:40 p.m. on the 700 block of West Vineyard Drive.

Police say that two groups of teens met in a parking lot to fight each other. During the fight, one teen pulled out a gun which two others fought with him over, causing a shot to be fired.

No firearm-related injuries were reported. The group that had the gun left the area before officers could arrive.
