Female rescued after SWAT situation in Pasco

PASCO, Wash. – On February 9, the Pasco Police Department responded to reports of a disturbance at a residence on the 1500 block of North 17th Ave at approximately 7:41 p.m.

According to Sergeant Ronald Seltun with Pasco PD, investigating officers received credible information that a female was being held against her will in the home’s garage.

When officers attempted to make contact at the garage, the male inside claimed to be armed and threatened the officers.

Due to the man’s threat of being armed and being behind a barricade, Tri-City Regional SWAT team responded to the scene.

After multiple hours of attempting to communicate with the man, SWAT team members managed to enter the garage.

The female was located and rescued.

The man was taken into custody for unlawful imprisonment, assault in the fourth degree, domestic violence and attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer.

Neither sustained serious injury.
