TRI-CITIES, Wash.-The Special Election is Tuesday, Feb. 13 and voters around the region will decide on several propositions regarding bonds and levies for school and fire districts.
Ballots must be postmarked or returned to a drop box by 8 p.m. on election day.
Here’s a look at the 2024 special election ballot measures in Yakima, Benton, Franklin and Walla Walla Counties.
Yakima County: 10 ballot measures for eight school districts, as well as one park district will be decided by voters on Feb. 13.
East Valley School District: Voters will decide on replacement of the educational programs and operations levy.Granger School District: Replacement of the educational programs and operations levy.Mabton School District: Replacement of the educational programs and operations levy.Naches Valley School District: Replacement of the educational programs and operations levy and a capital levy for health, safety and infrastructure.Sunnyside School District: Replacement of the educational programs and operations levy.Wahluke School District: Capital levy for health, safety and infrastructure.Wapato School District: Voters will be asked to approve or reject a proposed $33 million bond to replace aging schools.Yakima School District: Replacement of the educational programs and operations levy.Naches Park District: Voters will be asked to pass a special levy with 60 percent of the vote.
Benton County: Voters in the Prosser and Paterson school districts will vote on bond and levy propositions.
Paterson School District: Voters will approve or reject Proposition No. 1 that would fund bonds to share construction costs for a new Prosser High School.Prosser School District: Proposition No. 1: Replacement of the expiring maintenance operations and educational programs levy.Prosser School District: Proposition No. 2: Capital levy for safety, security and infrastructure improvements.
Franklin County: Voters will decide on two school levy propositions and a bond measure.
Kahlotus School District: Proposition No. 1 to replace the expiring educational funding levy.North Franklin School District: Proposition No. 1 to replace the expiring educational funding levy.Franklin County Fire Protection District #2: Proposition No. 1 a bond measure to build a new fire station.
Walla Walla County: Voters will decide three levy measures for local school districts.
Walla Walla School District: Proposition No. 1 would replace the expiring educational programs and operations levy.Walla Walla School District: Proposition No. 2 Capital projects levy to update outdoor athletic and activity fields.Dixie School District: Proposition No. 1 to replace the expiring educational programs and operations levy.Waitsburg School District: Proposition No. 1 would replace the educational programs and operations levy.
