Tri-Cities, Wash. –

The weekend is almost here! Tri-Cities Water Follies are kicking of Friday, July 29 to Sunday July 31.

Although the temperatures are quickly going up, you should still be extra careful out near the water. Staying hydrated is very important.

Tri-Cities Water Follies Organizer, Kathy Powell says many precautions are in place for the triple digit temperatures.

“Please stay hydrated. We’re trying to get the message out that it is going to be hot and we need to stay hydrated and and of course we have that beautiful Columbia river down there so a quick dip in the river when the boats are not on the water and the air planes are not in the air,” says Powell, “that’ll help cool you off and get you through the day.”

ROAD and PATH CLOSURES

Public parks and bicycle trails along the river in both Kennewick and Pasco will be closed to bikes and pedestrians.

Columbia Park in Kennewick will be closed from the Blue Bridge to Edison St beginning at 8 am on Thursday, July 28, until 7 pm on July 31.
