Event for kids on bicycle safety set for May 4 in Cle Elum

CLE ELUM, Wash. – Kids and families are invited to learn about bike safety at UKC’s Annual Kid’s Bicycle Safety Rodeo hosted by the Kittitas County Fire Protection District 6.

The event, which takes place at the Cle Elum Fire Department, will provide basic bike maintenance, all-sport helmets, decorations for helmets and bikes, first aid kits and knowledge about brain injury prevention for kids.

Booths will be hosted by Ride Roslyn, Kittitas County Public Health, Kittitas County Fire District 7, Roslyn Fire, Upper Kittitas County Medic One, Kittitas Valley Healthcare and CEFD.

Two interactive bike drills that hone in on basic skills and signs will also be ran through.

The road in front of CEFD will be shut down to ensure rider safety. Attendees are encouraged to bring their bikes and helmets.

The May 4 event is free and goes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Spur Burger will also be on site to provide food.
