YAKIMA, Wash.-Educational Service District 105 has announced two more dates for student book giveaways at the Downtown Yakima Farmers Market.
Families with children are invited the book giveaways on Sunday, September 24 and Sunday, October 22 at the ESD 105 booth at the Farmers Market.
ESD 105 has handed out over 3,000 books since the start of the 2023 Farmers Market season to encourage families to engage with young learners at home.
According to the ESD the book giveaways are funded through the Innovative Approaches to Literacy Grant which has provided $4 million in funding over five years.
ESD 105 also plans to give out books at the Central Washington State Fair the week of September 25. Up to 3,000 books will be handed out at each giveaway from baby level through high school.
