Deadly car crash in Benton County kills 2, injures 4

BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-

UPDATE October 7, 2:10 p.m.

The Benton County Sheriff’s Office posted an update on the crash’s investigation on Facebook.

Initial investigations show that speed and lack of familiarity with the location caused the crash.

BCSO also says that a second person in the car of six teenage girls died due to their injuries while four others survived with injuries.

According to Benton County Fire District 1, a car crash has resulted in one death and several life-threatening injuries.

According to a social media post made to X (formally Twitter) BCFD1 is now clearing the scene of a crash on East Homestead Road.

According to Jenna Kochenauer, PIO for BCFD1, there were six people in the car.

One person is dead as a result of the crash and four were taken to a local hospital with injuries.

Kochenauer tells us that this is a tragic incident for some local families.

The crash is currently under investigation by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.
