Car goes off cliff in White Pass, emergency crews responding

WHITE PASS, Wash.-Emergency crews are responding to a crash that sent a car off the side of a cliff on March 12.

The crash happened in the eastbound lane of State Route 12 near milepost 154 around 7 p.m. on March 12, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The car reportedly dropped an estimated 200 feet over a cliff after crashing off the road. Fire, emergency crews and mountain rescue crews are on scene and a drone was launched around 8 a.m. on March 13 to help in the rescue, according to the WSP.

At this time one person is confirmed to have been in the car by the WSP. While the cause of the crash is unknown, darkness and bad driving conditions may have contributed.
