Four fluffy ducklings are looking forward to a brighter future after being found dumped in a box.

A dog walker discovered them in a closed box in a busy park, King George’s Fields in Barnet.

They were found at about 5 pm on March 8 and the RSPCA were called to collect the terrified ducklings.

The baby ducks, who have been named Duck, Duck, Duck and Goose, are now at South Essex Wildlife Hospital from where they will be rehomed.

Inspector Shahnaz Ahmad, who rescued them, said: “The ducklings all seem quite healthy and tame, although one is smaller than the others.

“Given they were in a closed cardboard box we are investigating it as an abandonment and are looking for information about where they came from.

“It would have been a terrifying experience for the poor ducklings, and anything could have happened to them in a busy park.

“We are very grateful that someone found them and took them home to safety until we could collect them.”

The RSPCA are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and help them solve this puzzle.
