RICHLAND, Wash.-The Richland City Council recently voted to authorize the sale of a 50-acre industrial site at the Northwest Advanced Clean Energy Park to a lithium-ion battery manufacturer.

The Council officially signed the resolution authorizing the sale to Cenate, a Norwegian Company that produces silicon-containing anode materials for lithium batteries on Nov. 29, according to the City of Richland.

The proposed 40,000 square foot Richland facility is one of two proposed locations reportedly being considered by Cenate, along with a location in Butte, Montana.

Richland expects an update from Cenate on its plans by mid-2024. The proposed facility would create 250 living-wage jobs, according to the City.
