Arrest made after burglary of Kennewick home

KENNEWICK, Wash. – A suspect was arrested after attempting to burglarize a home in Kennewick on Tue., March 5, according to the Kennewick Police Department.

KPD officers were called to the area of West Seventh Avenue and South Anderson Street at around 3:05 p.m. for a possible burglary of a home.

A caller said they had arrived home from school and saw broken glass in the home with the belief that an intruder was still inside.

KPD says the home was quickly contained by officers who started making announcements to whoever was possibly in the home.

The home was cleared by officers and a K9 unit. No one was found inside.

Family members of the caller later said that they found the suspect still in the area. Officers that were still on scene took the suspect into custody.

KPD says the intruder was booked into the Benton County Jail on residential burglary domestic violence.
