Applications available for Richland Park Partnership Program

RICHLAND, Wash. – The Richland Parks and Recreation Commission is offering up to $40,000 from the Park Reserve Fund for capital improvements to parks, trails, open space and recreational facilities as part of the Richland Park Partnership Program.

The City of Richland says the program’s goal is to improve parks and recreational opportunities for the public, encourage private investment and participation in parks and recreational development and enhance Richland’s quality of life.

For eligibility, proposed projects must be in city-owned parks, facilities, recreational properties or within publicly accessible park land. Proposed projects must enhance or renovate and must benefit the public year-round.

Civic groups, athletic and sports organizations, private individuals, neighborhood park user groups and non-profit organizations are invited to apply.

Applicants are required to provide a minimum match of one private dollar, which may consist of cash, donated labor and/or donated materials, for each public dollar requested.

Projects must also require a commitment of less than one year.

Applications are due by March 15. All applicants must schedule and attend a pre-application Zoom meeting before Thu., Feb. 29 to be considered, which can be scheduled by contacting Contracts Administrator Stacy Jackson at stjackson@ci.richland.wa.us.
