KENNEWICK, Wash.-February is National Cancer Awareness Month and the Tri-City Americans will host the annual Fred Meyer “Pink Ice Night” on Feb. 24.

Fans will have the opportunity to bid on themed game-worn jerseys to raise funds for cancer research as the Americans take on the Regina Pats at 6:05 p.m. at the Toyota Center, with the game also being broadcast live on SWX, channel 25-3.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Partners in Care Foundation, which offers payment for a variety of expenses that aren’t covered by medical insurance, including transportation, respite care, medical supplies, childcare, lodging or food during treatment.

“Our Tri-City supporters are among the most dedicated around,” said Kathy Tolentino, executive director of the Partners in Care Foundation. “We are thrilled to partner with the Tri-City Americans for a fun night of hockey that will also raise public awareness while helping local cancer patients in need better focus on their healing journeys.”
