All lanes reopened on I-82 after multiple crashes near Yakima

YAKIMA, Wash. –

UPDATE 7:17 p.m.

According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Sarah Clasen, the roadway has been reopened in both directions.

UPDATE 6:31 p.m.

According to Washington State Patrol Trooper Sarah Clasen, the collision is blocking lanes in both directions on I-82.

Clasen says the initial crash was caused by a vehicle pulling a trailer eastbound which hit a barrier and got jack-knifed. This crash caused multiple other crashes in both the eastbound and westbound lanes.

Both directions are reduced to a single lane of travel. Clasen advises drivers to avoid the area.

According to the Washington State Department of Transportation’s Travel Center Map, drivers on eastbound I-82 are experiencing delays due to multiple crashes.

The crash is at milepost 33 according to WSDOT. Traffic is reduced to a single lane.
