YAKIMA, Wash. – Yakima parks are set to offer a summer filled with music and movies through three exciting series, the city said in a release.
The Summer Sunset Concert Series will take place at Franklin Park, 2101 Tieton Drive, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Fridays. Performances include Die Bruder on July 11 and Genevieve on August 15.
Viva La Musica will begin on Sunday, July 20 at Miller Park, featuring La Cuarta Generacion de Tierra Caliente. Concerts run from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. every Sunday until the finale on September 14.
Chesterley Park will host the Outdoor Summer Cinema Series, with movies starting at sunset, around 8:30 p.m., on Sundays. Films include Moana 2 on July 20 and Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone on August 17.
Parks and Recreation Manager Ken Wilkinson encouraged families to enjoy the outdoor events.
“The idea is to encourage families to bring blankets or lawn chairs and enjoy the free concerts and films outdoors,” Wilkinson said.
