Yakima’s Lions Pool closed for maintenance in August

YAKIMA, Wash. – Lions Pool in Yakima will be closed for annual maintenance from Monday, August 4, through Sunday, August 24.

During this time, Yakima Parks & Recreation crews will conduct general maintenance, repairs and repainting, the city said in a release.

Ken Wilkinson, Yakima Parks & Recreation Manager, acknowledged the inconvenience but emphasized the timing.

“There is never a perfect time to close the pool for annual maintenance, but this time of year tends to be the slowest at Lions,” Wilkinson said.

For those looking for alternative swimming options, Franklin Pool and the Aquatic Center at Martin Luther King Jr. Park will remain open.
