YAKIMA, Wash. – Yakima’s Capitol Theatre has launched “Shorty’s Tour of the Capitol Theatre,” a fundraising campaign inviting the community to explore the historic venue with its resident ghost, Shorty.
The Capitol Theatre, a cultural cornerstone since 1920, hosts an average of 175 events annually, a release said.
“Ticket sales do not cover the full cost of everything we do here,” Sierra Hutton, Development Director at Capitol Theatre said. “With Shorty’s Tour, we’re inviting everyone to see the Capitol as their theatre.”
Tours are available every Wednesday in March at 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 22 and 29, at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Each tour is limited to 12 people, with a suggested donation of $10 per person.
Participants can sign up online or by calling the box office. The theatre encourages community members to join the tour and support the arts in Yakima.
