YAKIMA, Wash. – The city of Yakima is inviting residents to participate in a survey for the 6th Avenue Rebuild and Rail Renovation project.

This initiative targets a nearly one-and-a-half mile stretch from West Walnut Street to River Road, focusing on enhancing infrastructure, safety, and accessibility.

The project, which started in summer 2024, is in its concept development phase, with final engineering expected by spring 2026. It aims to reconstruct roads, improve sidewalks, and extend the William O. Douglas Trail infrastructure.

The survey will be open until March 30, 2025. This is the second survey following initial outreach efforts in September 2024.
