YAKIMA, Wash. – The Yakima Vintiques Car Club hosted its 51st annual Northwest National Car Show, bringing more than 600 cars and 2,000 participants to the Yakima State Fairgrounds. The four-day event concluded with attendees leaving in style.

Ric Knight, who joined the club 45 years ago in 1980 and currently serves as the club’s vice president, shared his passion for cars.

“As a young man, I was interested in anything with an engine and wheels drove my folks insane, I’m sure,” he said. Knight emphasized the community aspect of the event, noting, “You see these same guys and you talk about it and it becomes a community of this.”

The weekend event attracted nearly 6,000 guests who enjoyed food, music, and, of course, the cars. Knight noted the importance of involving everyone of all ages.

“We have lots of people who have come here for most of the years,” he said. There’s many, many that have been here for 40 years, which says something.”

Knight highlighted the bonds formed through the club and events like this one.

“It’s the community of it. It’s the people who are involved in it. You make friends, you make social acquaintances,” he stated.

Knight stressed the importance of the car club and community support, inviting everyone to stay tuned for next year’s event during the first weekend of August.
