YAKIMA, Wash. – The Yakima Valley was recently ranked in the top 10 best travel destinations for fall in the United States by USA Today’s 10Best Reader’s Choice Awards.
Coming in sixth, the Yakima Valley is the only destination in the Western U.S. recognized in the top 10.
“Crisp air, vibrant leaves, and a bountiful harvest put Washington’s Yakima Valley on fall bucket lists,” the description on 10Best Reader’s Choice says. “The Fresh Hop Ale Festival takes place each autumn, and there are over 3,000 farms in the Yakima Valley, meaning plenty of u-pick apples, pumpkins, and other fall crops.”
10Best Reader’s Choice top-10 lists are determined by a panel of experts who nominate 20 choices before the public votes on final winners.
“We’re excited that the Yakima Valley has been recognized as a great place to visit in the fall given our many harvest events and celebrations, great weather and fall beauty,” Yakima Valley Tourism CEO John Cooper said in a press release.
