YAKIMA, Wash. – The Yakima Symphony Orchestra surpassed its 2025 Year-End Match Challenge, raising $166,439 by Dec. 31.
According to a press release from the Orchestra, this effort was supported by 135 donors, exceeding the original goal of $150,000, and was matched by generous Board members and patrons.
The initial goal was $130,000, but an anonymous donor’s new challenge raised it to $150,000. Executive Director Sam McClung expressed gratitude for the community’s dedication to music and education.
“I have learned a lot since joining the Yakima Symphony Orchestra nine months ago, most poignant of all being that the Yakima Valley is dedicated and generous in their passion for music and music education,” McClung said. “Whether you gave $20, $20,000 or somewhere in between, thank you for being a part of the Symphony family and for taking part in the rich legacy of orchestral music.”
The Yakima Symphony Orchestra continues to enrich and inspire the community through captivating concerts of classical and popular music.
