YAKIMA, Wash. – A shooting occurring in Yakima on February 9, 2025, left a young man dead and a toddler injured.
According to a release, Yakima Police officers responded to a distress call at around 10:40 p.m. in the 1400 block of Folsom Ave.
Upon arrival, police said officers found a 21-year-old man and a 1-year-old boy with gunshot wounds.
The young man was pronounced dead at the scene, while the toddler was taken to Memorial Multicare for treatment and is now in stable condition, the release said.
Detectives from the Yakima Police Department are investigating the incident.
Currently, no suspect has been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
The name of the deceased is being withheld to allow the family time for notifications.
