YAKIMA, Wash. – Yakima Police Department officers responded to a shooting early Thursday morning in the 200 block of South 72nd Avenue.
At about 1:27 a.m., officers found a 21-year-old Yakima resident with a gunshot wound.
Despite lifesaving efforts by officers and medical personnel, the victim died at the scene.
Detectives from the Yakima Police Major Crimes Unit have taken over the investigation, which remains ongoing.
