
UPDATE: September 19, 2025 1:30 p.m.
The crash on 16th Avenue and Monroe Avenue involved a car and a pedestrian and resulted in serious injuries, according to the Yakima Police Department.
The crash was reported at 3:48 p.m. on September 18. When officers and medics arrived on the scene, they found a man laying unresponsive in the road. He had serious injuries.
The driver involved in the crash was not impaired and was “extremely cooperative” according to the Yakima Police Department.
The pedestrian was taken to Yakima MultiCare and then to Harborview for advanced medical care.
He is in stable but critical condition, according to the police department.
