Yakima intersection to reduce lanes for safety improvements

YAKIMA, Wash.–Traffic will be reduced to two lanes at the N. 5th Ave and W. D St intersection for pedestrian safety improvements.

Improvements include new street lights, curb extensions, new crosswalk striping and storm drainage, according to the City of Yakima.

Lane closures be in effects from 7 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday beginning March 10, according to the City of Yakima. Home and business access will be maintained as best as possible, and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the work zone if necessary.

The project is expected to be completed at the end of April, according to the city.
