Yakima, WA – The Yakima Health District (YHD) announced a temporary disruption in services due to an upgrade of the Accela Customer Portal will begin March 26.
This upgrade will affect several permitting and review processes managed by YHD’s Environmental Health Division. Impacted services include permits for food establishments, pools, camps, solid waste facilities, septic systems, land and water use reviews, and more, a YHD release said.
“We urge everyone to plan ahead and submit applications for permits and services before the system shutdown begins,” Kait Wolterstorff, Environmental Health Program Manager at YHD, said.
The permitting services will be unavailable from March 26 at 3:00 p.m. through March 31, 2025, with full service resuming on April 1, 2025.
While the upgrade is in progress, the Yakima Health District office will remain open, and services such as food worker cards, birth and death certificates, and complaint intake will not be affected, YHD said.
Community members needing permits, inspections, or approvals are encouraged to complete necessary applications and payments before the March 26 deadline to avoid delays.
