YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. – The Yakima County Sheriff’s Office released a new smartphone app, allowing users quick access to important safety information.

The app, developed by OCV, LLC.’s TheSheriffApp.com which creates apps for sheriff’s offices and public safety organizations, has several features ranging from tip submissions to jail information to employment opportunities.

“Over 80 percent of people in the United States own and use smartphones as their primary means of communication,” said OCV Partner and CRO Kevin Cummings. “Mobile apps offer agencies a better way to alert, inform and prepare the public. Apps allow public safety agencies the ability to reach and serve their citizens where they are: their smartphones.”

The app can be found on the App Store and Google Play for free by searching “Yakima County Sheriff, WA.”
