YAKIMA, Wash. – A major burglary and theft investigation led by the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) has resulted in the recovery of over $100,000 in stolen property.

In mid-January, the YCSO Pass Deputy and ProAct Unit investigated a series of thefts and burglaries across Yakima County, including cabins, businesses and homes on White and Chinook Pass. The investigation uncovered a burglary ring operating in the area.

Deputies from YCSO’s ProAct unit, assisted by several agencies including the Yakima Police Department ProAct unit and the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender’s Task Force, executed search warrants at a storage unit near 16th Avenue and W. Washington Avenue and a residence on E. Spruce Street.

The raids recovered a stolen gun safe, 21 firearms, processed marijuana, motorcycles, stolen four wheelers, lawn equipment, tools, vehicles and other valuable items believed to be stolen. Deputies also found fire equipment suspected to be stolen from Mason County.

Deputies have linked the recovered items to over 15 confirmed burglary and theft cases. However, they believe there may be more victims, particularly from the White and Chinook Pass area, who are unaware of their losses.

Citizens who suspect they may have been victims are encouraged to contact Deputies Cagle or Wilkinson at 509-574-2500 ext. 0 to view the recovered property and identify items.

Two adults from Yakima were arrested during the investigation, including a 15-time convicted felon. The investigation is ongoing, and charges will be referred to the Yakima County Prosecutor’s Office.
