YAKIMA, Wash. – Organizers in support of a recall effort against Coroner Jim Curtice due to allegations of drug misuse have released a list of locations where signatures are being collected.

The recall effort aims to place Curtice’s position on the August 2025 primary ballot.

In January, Yakima County Superior Court Judge Kevin Naught determined there is enough evidence to allow the recall process to proceed. Recall organizers need at least 14,000 valid signatures from registered Yakima County voters by early summer. They are targeting 18,000 signatures to ensure enough are valid.

Curtice, whose term ends in 2026, has been on self-imposed paid administrative leave since September 2024. He faces accusations of lying to law enforcement about taking illegal drugs from deceased bodies and using them at work.
