Kennewick, Wash. – WSU Tri-Cities annually hosts an awards ceremony to honor women and their allies who have made strides toward equity.
This year’s event will take place on March 27 at 6:15 p.m. on campus.
Since 2017, the ceremony has recognized the contributions of 49 individuals through the Women of Distinction Legacy Awards.
Damien Sinnott from WSU Tri-Cities highlighted recent recipients Michelle Whitney, superintendent of Pasco School District, and Rebekah Woods, president of Columbia Basin College.
Sinnott expressed his admiration for these leaders, stating, “I always find myself in awe of them because they are the definition of true servant leaders and they make leadership look so natural and so easy.”
He emphasized the dedication and passion both Whitney and Woods bring to their organizations and the community.
The awards celebrate individuals who lead with strength, drive, and vision, said Sinnott. He is eager to honor the new recipients at the upcoming ceremony.
