KENNEWICK, Wash. – With spring in full swing, gardening enthusiasts in Kennewick have the opportunity to expand their green spaces.

The Master Gardeners of WSU Tri-Cities are hosting a plant sale today starting at 9:00 a.m.

The event, which runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. May 9th and 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. May 10th aims to encourage both seasoned and new gardeners to explore the benefits of gardening.

Stacey Abney, the chairperson for the Master Gardeners Plant Sale, shared her personal reasons for gardening.

“One of the things that I love about it is the peace of being out there and just kind of being able to be in nature and get my hands dirty and know that I’m making something beautiful and know that I’m helping our pollinator friends and our birds and our bees and that I’m creating this environment and I’m growing healthy food for my family,” said Abney.

The sale features a variety of vendors, including Heritage Gardens, the Noxious Weed Control Board, and more.

Attendees can seek advice on topics such as irrigation and creating native heritage gardens.

The event not only provides a chance to purchase plants but also offers expert advice to help gardeners succeed in their green endeavors.
