Wolf Moon to brighten skies alongside Quadrantid meteor shower

The year is off to an exciting start for skywatchers with the first celestial events of 2026 on the horizon. This weekend will feature the “Wolf Moon,” the first supermoon of the year, appearing larger and brighter as it is closer to Earth than usual.

The full moon’s brightness may make it challenging to see the second event, the “Quadrantid Meteor Shower.” However, astronomers say the meteor shower will peak on Saturday evening and remain active through January 16.

These celestial events offer a spectacular opportunity for stargazers to enjoy the night sky.
