WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – Drivers using the Keene Rd and Kennedy Rd intersection should prepare for changes starting Tuesday, September 2.
Crews plan to install new signal equipment, which may cause traffic delays, the City of West Richland said in a release.
The upgrades mark phase one of a broader plan to improve traffic flow at the busy intersection.
The improvements include removing existing striping, fog sealing the roadway, and adding new striping to create dedicated lanes for left, through and right turns on Kennedy Rd.
Additionally, overlapping right-turn signals will be installed to facilitate smoother traffic movement when Keene Rd has protected left turns.
This is expected to reduce delays for right-turning vehicles on Kennedy Rd, the city said.
The final lane reconfiguration is scheduled for later in September.
